Installation Tips:
The STAN28-WMS circulates barrier fluid through a thermosyphon (convection) process. Ensure pipework between the system and seal is free of sags or kinks to maintain proper fluid flow and thermal efficiency.
Typical Applications & Industry Use Cases
The STAN28-WMS Water Management System is a 28-litre water-based barrier fluid support system designed to provide reliable circulation, cooling, and lubrication for double mechanical seal applications. Built to deliver consistent fluid movement and thermal regulation, this system supports seal performance and longevity in heavy-duty and continuous-duty environments.
Industries Served
Chemical and petrochemical processing
Water and wastewater treatment systems
Power generation and utilities
Industrial pumping and fluid handling
Manufacturing facilities with rotating equipment
OEM and engineered plant applications
Equipment & Use-Case Scenarios
- Double mechanical seal installations requiring controlled barrier fluid circulation
- Services where thermal control, lubrication, and heat removal are essential to seal life
- Installations with moderate to high heat loads and continuous service requirements
- Systems where reducing downtime and improving reliability are priorities
Why It Fits These Applications
- 28-litre reservoir capacity: Provides sufficient fluid volume to maintain stable circulation and effective heat removal
- Water-based circulation: Uses water as a barrier fluid to support seal lubrication, cooling, and temperature control
- Factory assembled:Delivered ready to install to reduce on-site assembly time and minimise errors
- Instrumentation included: Standard pressure gauge and flow indicator help monitor system performance
- Compact design: Fits into utility spaces and can be installed near equipment requiring barrier fluid support
- Flexible installation: Suitable for wall or stand mounting, depending on site layout
Installation Guidelines
Pre-Installation Preparation
Select a stable location, level, and easily accessible for routine service. Ensure mounting points can support the filled system weight and that piping connections will allow unobstructed fluid flow.
System Installation
Mount the STAN28-WMS unit on a wall bracket or stand. Connect the inlet and outlet lines to the barrier fluid piping serving the double mechanical seals. Route fluid lines to avoid sharp bends or low points that could impede circulation.
Filling & Start-Up
Fill the reservoir with clean water or specified water-based barrier fluid. Bleed air from the system lines to establish uninterrupted circulation. Verify that the pressure gauge and flow indicator are installed and functioning correctly.
Operational Check
Begin circulation and monitor the system as the connected equipment reaches normal operating conditions. Adjust fluid flow and monitoring devices as needed to maintain consistent barrier fluid performance.
Maintenance & Inspection Best Practices
- Routine Monitoring: Check for leaks, abnormal temperature, or vibration near the system
- Instrument Checks: Observe pressure gauge and flow indicator readings to detect changes that may signal restriction or fluid issues
- Fluid Quality: Maintain clean barrier fluid and replace it at scheduled intervals to prevent contamination
- Connection Inspection: Ensure tubing and fittings remain free of obstruction and securely connected
- Periodic Servicing: Schedule intervals to inspect internal components, drains, and valves for wear or scaling
Service & Support Options
- Application Review: Confirm that the STAN28-WMS configuration aligns with your seal type, fluid chemistry, and operating conditions
- Installation Assistance: Technical guidance can help optimise piping layout and fluid circulation paths
- Preventive Maintenance Planning: Establish inspection and service intervals based on duty cycles and operating environment
- System Upgrades: If demands increase, consider enhanced circulation options or larger capacity support systems to match service requirements
