Typical Applications & Industry Use Cases
The STAN28-TCC Thermal Management System is a 28-litre seal support unit developed to manage barrier fluid temperature and circulation for double mechanical seal configurations. Using a thermosyphon-driven design, the system promotes natural heat transfer and stable fluid movement, helping protect seal faces from overheating and thermal distortion during continuous or high-load operation.
Industries Served
Petrochemical and downstream processing facilities
Oil and gas production and compression systems
Thermal power stations and utility infrastructure
Pulp, paper, and fibre processing plants
Industrial water handling and transfer systems
OEM pump and rotating equipment manufacturing
Equipment & Use-Case Scenarios
- Double mechanical seals operating in elevated temperature environments
- Pumps handling hot process fluids where seal cooling is essential
- Applications requiring passive thermal control without external circulation equipment
- Installations focused on reducing seal failures caused by temperature fluctuation
- Systems where consistent barrier fluid conditions improve operational stability
Why It Fits These Applications
- 28-litre reservoir volume: Provides increased thermal mass for improved temperature stability
- Passive thermosyphon operation: Enables reliable circulation without pumps or motors
- Thermal management design: Helps dissipate heat from the seal chamber efficiently
- Pre-assembled configuration: Reduces field installation effort and startup risk
- Integrated monitoring components: Allows operators to observe system performance easily
- Industrial-grade construction: Supports long-term operation in demanding service conditions
Installation Guidelines
Pre-Installation Preparation
Identify a mounting location that allows direct routing to the mechanical seal barrier ports. Ensure the area provides adequate access for inspection and maintenance, and that the mounting surface can support the system when filled with fluid.
System Installation
Install the STAN28-TCC using a suitable wall- or stand-mounting arrangement. Connect the supply and return lines between the system and the double mechanical seal. Pipe routing should support uninterrupted thermosyphon circulation, avoiding elevation traps, restrictions, or unnecessary directional changes.
Initial Filling & Setup
Charge the reservoir with the recommended water or compatible barrier fluid. Remove air from the system to ensure continuous circulation. Confirm that all gauges, indicators, and valves are correctly installed and functioning prior to startup.
Startup Procedure
Allow the system to reach operating temperature so natural circulation can establish. Observe pressure and flow behavior during initial operation and confirm stable thermal performance before placing the equipment into sustained service.
Maintenance & Inspection Best Practices
- Operational Condition Checks: Monitor temperature stability and circulation behavior during routine operation
- Leak and Seal Integrity Inspections: Examine fittings, drains, and vents for signs of fluid loss
- Instrumentation Verification: Confirm accuracy and responsiveness of pressure and flow indicators
- Barrier Fluid Monitoring: Replace fluid if contamination, scaling, or degradation is observed
- Piping Assessment: Inspect tubing routes for blockages, fouling, or mechanical damage
- Internal System Review: During shutdowns, inspect the vessel and internal surfaces for buildup or corrosion
Service & Support Options
- System Suitability Assessment: Review operating conditions to confirm proper system selection and configuration
- Installation Advisory Support: Assistance with piping layout and thermosyphon circulation optimization
- Maintenance Strategy Development: Guidance on inspection intervals based on thermal load and duty severity
- Performance Review Services: Evaluation of system operation with recommendations for optimization or capacity adjustment if conditions change
