Why It Fits These Applications

Installation Guidelines

1.

Pre-Installation Preparation

Thoroughly clean and inspect the pump shaft, seal chamber bore, and gland surfaces. Remove any corrosion, scoring, or foreign material that could affect alignment or contact of the sealing surfaces.

2.

Cartridge Installation

Insert the SPW682-53 double cartridge seal into the designated seal housing. Verify the correct orientation of the barrier fluid inlet and outlet connections based on the selected Plan 53 barrier fluid configuration. Tighten gland bolts and set screws to the specified torque values.

3.

Barrier Fluid Loop Setup

Connect the pressurised barrier fluid inlet and outlet lines per the selected Plan 53A, 53B, or 53C arrangement. Prime and vent the barrier fluid system thoroughly to eliminate air pockets and confirm continuous circulation before starting the equipment.

4.

Controlled Startup

Begin by initiating barrier fluid circulation, then gradually bring the pump up to operating speed. During this process, monitor barrier fluid pressure and temperature, seal-face temperature, and overall vibration to confirm stable operation.
