Installation Tips:
The STAN12-WMS operates using thermosyphon (convection) circulation to transfer barrier fluid to and from the mechanical seal. For proper operation, ensure that connecting pipework is free of sags or kinks to maintain unrestricted flow.
Typical Applications & Industry Use Cases
The STAN12-WMS Water Management System is a compact 12-litre seal-support system designed to ensure effective water circulation for double mechanical seals. It maintains stable barrier fluid conditions by delivering controlled circulation, thermal regulation, and lubrication to the seal chamber. This improves seal reliability, reduces heat buildup, and extends overall seal life in continuous-duty applications.
Industries Served
Chemical and petrochemical plants
Water and wastewater treatment facilities
Power generation utilities
Industrial pumping and fluid handling
Food and beverage processing
General manufacturing and engineered equipment services
Equipment & Use-Case Scenarios
- Double mechanical seal installations requiring consistent water or barrier fluid circulation
- Services where thermal control and seal face lubrication are critical to reliability
- Installations with limited space that require a compact, self-contained support system
- Applications where improved seal cooling directly reduces downtime and maintenance costs
Why It Fits These Applications
- 12-litre reservoir capacity: Provides adequate fluid volume for stable circulation and effective heat dissipation
- Integrated heating and cooling coil: Supports precise temperature control of the barrier fluid
- Factory-assembled system: Reduces installation time and minimises on-site assembly errors
- Built-in instrumentation: Includes a pressure gauge, a flow indicator, and a drain valve for monitoring and control
- Compact footprint: Suitable for wall-mounted or stand-mounted installation in space-restricted areas
- Flexible mounting options: Allow easy integration into existing seal support layouts
Installation Guidelines
Pre-Installation Preparation
Select a stable, accessible location near the mechanical seal connections. Ensure the mounting surface is level and capable of supporting the filled system weight.
System Installation
Mount the STAN12-WMS unit using a wall bracket or support stand. Connect the inlet and outlet lines to the barrier fluid piping serving the double mechanical seals. Route piping to encourage natural thermosyphon circulation without sharp bends or low points.
Initial Filling & Setup
Fill the reservoir with the specified water or barrier fluid. Bleed trapped air from the system and verify that all valves and instruments function correctly.
Startup Procedure
Allow thermosyphon circulation to establish naturally. Monitor pressure, flow, and temperature during initial operation and adjust as needed to achieve stable performance before placing the system into continuous service.
Maintenance & Inspection Best Practices
- Routine Visual Inspections: Check for leaks, abnormal temperatures, or vibration
- Instrumentation Monitoring: Observe pressure and flow indicators for early signs of restriction or system imbalance
- Fluid Condition Control: Maintain clean fluid and replace it at recommended service intervals
- Piping & Connection Checks: Inspect tubing and fittings for blockage, scaling, or looseness
- Periodic Internal Inspection: Review internal coils, drains, and vessel components for wear or buildup
Service & Support Options
- Application Review: Confirm the system configuration matches seal design, fluid chemistry, and operating conditions
- Installation Support: Technical guidance to ensure proper piping layout and thermosyphon performance
- Preventive Maintenance Planning: Establish inspection and servicing schedules based on temperature and duty cycles
- System Upgrade Evaluation: Consider larger capacity or enhanced thermal control systems if operating demands increase
